Just want to respond to articles praising "Fuzzy" and his taxi franchise in Eureka Springs. One article says that passing ordinance 2051 will keep prices from skyrocketing while another article makes accusations that the 'other' limo company is slashing prices. Well, which is it? Are the 'other' limo prices too high or too low? Can't make up your mind? Test it out and see for yourself who is reasonably priced and who isn't. Call each service with a bogus name and ask for a price quote to a given location. You'll soon see who you can afford to ride with.
Now, as for reliability, one of those services answers the phone religiously while the other one answers when the urge hits him; and then, if you get through to the existing 'taxi' service check your watch to see how long it takes to see a car pull up. And, do you really want to ride in the back seat of a car that smells like wet dog?
If you truly want reliable inexpensive transportation services in Eureka Springs you will vote "NO" on 2051.
The Beaver Bridge! What can we do to help? My kids and I wanted to go clean it up...but where do we take the stuff can we burn the debris in small controlled piles - what can we do - how can we help clean up OUR TOWN? I have no clue who to contact or numbers or anything...why can't we make a block party out of it? Make it fun but get some work done - that simple little bridge is what I fell in love with 5 years ago...I now live in the town and I feel we all have to take a part in keeping it nice and making sure they FIX our bridge...I am willing to do whatever I can - but I would love to know - WHAT CAN I DO?

Once again I find it advisable to alert the citizens of Eureka Springs regarding the crude behavior by none other than the infamous Mr. Eric Scheunemann.
He does not behave in the manner of an Alderman, with his continous refusal to vote on issues brought before Council. His only contribution at City Council Meetings is to pontificate the law according to none other than Eric himself!
He does not recognize any opinions from our Mayor, his fellow Councilmen, our City Lawyer, or from the Attorney General.
His only interpretation of the law is what he has managed to twist and turn so it suits his own beliefs....and folks it is laughable at best.
I am sure Mr. Scheunemann would be happiest living on his own island where he can brainwash the monkeys and birds he would share his island with.
That is, until a lion or tiger would get tired of his blathering and put him out of his misery.
The only thing that he quoted at the June 23rd Council Meeting that made sense came from Commisioner Pownall.
Commisioner Pownall had previously consented to an interview at the request of this newspaper. Commisioner Pownall stated in the interview that since Mr. Scheunemann failed over and over again to do his duty and do what the citizens elected him for, which is (was) to represent the citizens of Eureka Springs, that he should resign and pay the city back for the pay he received.
Mr. Eric Scheunemann first whined at the Council Meeting tonight that he wanted to also give an interview, but he was refused (WHAT does this tell you, Mr. Scheunemann?).
Mr. Scheunemann continues to waste space on a council seat and not voting on city issues, due to Mr. Scheunemann's own personal belief that the Council meetings are illegal, due to Pat Matsukis's APPOINTMENT being vetoed.
Commisioner Pownall had the audacity to request that all monies paid to Mr. Scheunemann for his lack of work on the council, be paid back to the city! Gasp! You mean, if a person does not do the duties that he was assigned to do,that a step down should occur? And... pay received for not doing a job should be paid back?
Gasp!!! How unconsitutional!
Yes, this is what Mr. Scheunemann believes!
He also felt it necessary to bring it up in a forum set aside for comments that nobody can interrupt, called Council Comments.
Picture it if you can folks...sitting in a room at least 82 degrees, no air conditioning.
Mr Scheunemann finally has an audience he so desperately craves! He grasps the several long minutes to educate the Mayor, the Council, and the citizens of why he does not vote on city issues.
He whines. He gets belligerant.
He continues......on and on and on and on.
Eric..pay the city back for any monies paid to you, clear and simple. What you are now doing is called extortion.
You feel you are part of an illegal meeting, and your own "ethical" reasoning should tell you this is the right thing to do.
Nobody is listening anymore to you, we are tired of you taking up a seat on Council while your only main accomplishment has been to rape our city both in your words and deeds.
You have not built anything or anyone up, only attempted to bring Eureka to her knees with your self served attempt and agenda to halt all City business.
You dare speak against a Commisioner who knows more about City Administration than you posess in your little finger, and you are threatened that he is exposing you.
Give it up....you have exposed yourself.
Please Go!
