Of landslides, chickens and tricked out scions

Whatever else you may know him for, Joe Joy makes a bangin' mango margarita... It's his birthday this Saturday so go find him and make him buy you a drink... Happy Birthday anyway, Joe! ...

Speaking of slip slidin' away ...there goes another old-growth oak, another hole punched in the tree canopy, a whole shaded hillside making way for sun-loving plants -- and, if the scientists are right -- cactus. Just what is going on down there on Grand Avenue anyway? SWEPCO should start selling firewood.... Meanwhile, locals just keep contributing to the city's coffers by driving past the Road Closed signs and getting ticketed. ...I say if you're that anxious to contribute to the city's Grotto Spring clean-up fund, just go down to City Hall, make a contribution and avoid the hassle of having your license checked out.

Not to change the subject, but I'm in love. Seventy-five year old Carol Lee Carr has stolen my heart just by the sheer zaniness of putting on a Poultry Swap. You'd expect maybe tatting at that age, but a poultry swap? I'm head over heels. ....Everything's fair game, she says (or should that be fair fowl?), as long as it flies and has feathers. She's had tons of people looking for chickens and is now really worried people won't be bringing enough to swap, so next time you see one of those Tyson trucks rolling by scattering white feathers all over the highway, help Carol out and grab a crate or two of squawkers off the back. ...You can call Carol at 870-847-1934 or email doordame5162@yahoo.com for details on the swap. ...Yeah, I know, there's an ordinance for that...

Hearing all the buzz about Art in Opera got me checking out the Opera in the Ozarks website, which led to checking out some art sites, which led to my Big Grin of the Day -- a little site called Speed of Art. ...Unfortunately, there's a reason people should run their domain names by someone first. Not only to see what others think, but to see what it looks like written out. Some people get so caught up creating something, they forget what it will look like to the rest of the world. ...To wit: speedofart.com. (Apologies to speedo wearers worldwide ...maybe.)

Awesome Scion show. It was a blast having Ron Wintercorn and his crew in town. It does the heart good to see people having fun in Eureka Springs...

Hey, if you had fun as a visitor then moved here and all the fun screeched to a halt, you can email me at oliverdeplace@hotmail.com and cry on my iPad. ...Or, you can friend me on Facebook. It will make you feel much better. (And will make my family think I actually have friends.)
