Pre Occupied by Deer CainPosted Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at 4:36 PM
On my way to Focker's Discount Gro. for supper Tuesday, I drove by the Occupy Wall Street group and found out they camped there because of the street name, and not because the residents of said local neighborhood are engaged in any heinous financial practices. Well, nothing on public record, anyway. They got lots of honks and thumbs up from passing drivers, so the group seemed pretty happy to be there enjoying David Roll's occu-chai tea. ...Apparently they're going to meet every Tuesday at 4 p.m. in support of restoring financial equity around the globe. BYO signs and erstwhile speeches; but soon everyone can get their own Occupy Eureka T-shirt at Fockers, or so I hear. Grassroots at its best -- anyone can make up their own event and post it on the group's Facebook page, Occupy Eureka. So only one percent of Eureka Springs's population turned out ... maybe next time it'll be ten percent. ...Hey, it could happen. Speaking of things that could happen: deer cocaine addiction? Really? ...Apparently. To wit: Oh wait, thanks for the photo Vernon, that's Deer coCain. ...So what exactly is the point other than to drive deer crazy, as it claims on the bag? Do hunters dump a tempting pile of it in the woods and wait for deer so they can shoot them? Or is it for neighbors (outside city limits of course) who just want to give the animals a little thrill along with whatever's left of the family garden? ...And does anyone know if it works on humans? If you happen to know (won't ask how), email me at oliverdeplace@hotmail.com or post on my Facebook page. Like that's going to happen.
