There's that N word in the White House!Posted Sunday, September 18, 2011, at 3:22 PM
The republicans' disrespectful behavior toward President Barack Obama continues to amaze me. And it's so childish, as well. During Obama's speech presenting his jobs program, the republicans sat on their hands while most of the room honored Obama's points with rounds of applause. There were even a few Tea Party republicans who played hooky from the speech. If the democrats had boycotted a speech during George W. Bush's years, they would have probably been rounded up by Cheney's goons and thrown in jail.
However, House Speaker John Boehner, sat by with a glum expression on his face. I'm surprised he kept his tongue in his mouth. Boehner's tepid applause was a gesture to convey boredom to the rest of the GOP gang, but his folded arms were a defensive posture which really told the story, while he witnessed Obama's warm reception and all the standing ovations. I guess the GOP polls are in error concerning the popularity of Obama, as well.
No matter how the GOP spins Obama's actions, they can't take away the fact that we have the most intelligent president governing our country since former President William J. Clinton. Therefore, casting aspersions on Obama and his administration because they are intelligent is one of the few lanes open to them. The republicans know that many conservatives are frightened of educated people. Convincing right wingers that "Ivory Tower" minds can't be trusted is easy. The trumped up reasons for dumping Obama, such as taking vacations, dithering, using a tele-prompter, being born in Indonisia, not a Christian and etc. are just smoke screens for the real reason Obama is hated by the right.
The true reason, if the GOP had some guts and could be honest with the citizens of this country, would be to admit they can't tolerate a brilliant black man in the White House. But even worse, Obama's mother was a WHITE woman. That makes the president a mulatto, with a black African for a father, which is the final abomination in their eyes.
That's the whole crux of these last three years and don't you believe anything different.
