Rising higher: Catch Foley's Van on their meteoric climb
Posted Wednesday, August 13, at 7:48 PM

Have you ever heard a band that could take a tune -- literally, any tune, and start playing around with it, and next thing you know it's a beautiful, harmonious, symphony of a song whose central jam session seems like it could go on forever without ever getting old? (I hadn't, and -- forgive me friends -- that's why I've never been a huge fan of the Grateful Dead.)...

Posted Wednesday, August 6, at 11:04 AM

Chelsea's Corner Cafe & Bar features a rare two-night stand by an acclaimed, fast-rising soul/R&B/funk band from Nebraska this weekend. Josh Hoyer and The Shadowboxers formed in late 2012 in the jumpin' Midwest blues town of Lincoln, Neb. For the prior 15 years, Hoyer had been very much in demand as a performer in his previous bands, as a solo artist behind the piano and as a session musician and arranger...

Everyone digs a girl band - and Chelsea's has a good one coming Sunday!
Posted Wednesday, July 30, at 10:35 AM

Everybody loves an all-girl musical group. Why? Well, that's for you to discuss among yourselves, LOL, but the fact remains. Even us straight chicks dig a band that can play well that's made up of all women. Girl power! Right?! This Sunday night, one of the Mountain Home area's most unique and gifted exports, in my opinion, performs at Chelsea's Corner Cafe & Bar -- and, you guessed it, it's a band made up of solely females...
