Richard Isaacs fine architectural and decorative glass at Main Stage at the end of the month featured lamps, mandalas and freeform decorative glass. Passersby may have taken in a large circle in the window of tawny decorative glass male and female forms in a paradise setting. For more of Richard's works, go to Richard Issacs He co-hosted with Eric Scheunemann and Whitney Capps.

Carol Peacock, Natalia Cole and Asia gave a great open house at Peacock Gallery. Carol Peacock presented new large scale oil paintings that went from floor to ceiling, and recent works including a painting inspired by Opal Fly in dreamy warm tones.

The theme show this year at Zark's was, are you ready?, "The Brooch". Thats what you and I might call a pin, and the artists had fun with it. The people's choice is the winner at Zarks, and this year it was David Pettit. Just the right size and depth for a brooch, it was a real wasp's nest with the back part somehow shaved flat and a pin attached. Little glass beads, crystals, silver charms, semi-precious stones and found materials were in some of the cone openings.

The Arkansas Arts Council honored Eurekan woodworker Doug Stowe as the Arkansas Living Treasure of 2009 Sunday, May 17 at the Crescent Hotel Conservatory. He presented his student's work along with his own. "Doug loves to teach," said Ruth Morrison, who attended the Sunday show. Of the student work, Ruth said, "They were very nice. It added much to the show, as well as the beautiful boxes Doug Stowe creates."
