DAH ACCEPTING REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER TEACHER WORKSHOPS he Department of Arkansas Heritage is now accepting registration from all Arkansas educators for summer workshops. Free Astronomy Program offered at Hobbs State Park Saturday, May 3, marks the date of the third of 6 scheduled astronomy programs at Hobbs State Park -- Conservation Area for 2008. The 8 p.m. program will take place at the park's Hidden Diversity, Multi-Use Trail parking lot on Townsend Ridge Road. Artists encouraged to enter Arkansas Artist Engagement Calendar competition. Local artists are encouraged by First Lady Ginger Beebe and the Governor's Mansion Association to enter their art work in the competition for inclusion in the 2009 Arkansas Artist Engagement Calendar. The deadline for entry is April 30. An impartial panel of jurors will choose the works to be included in the 2009 calendar. The calendar will be on sale starting September 10, 2008.
