Eureka Springs artists, authors and performing artists are warmly invited to participate in the Not So Square Arts Festival to be held on the courthouse square and nearby Gibbs Park in Mt. Vernon, Missouri on Saturday, September 20. The deadline for notifying the Mt. Vernon Arts Council of participation is August 15.

The event is free to the public and to visual artists, published authors and performing artists. The Arts Council is offering visual artists and published authors a free 10x10 booth space. They will accept no percentage or fee from the sale of artwork/books.

In addition to booths around the historic square, there will be hands-on-art, writing and theatrical workshops for children, writing workshops for adults, live music in Gibbs Park and the performers are encouraged to accept donations from the public. There will also be an international tango festival and performances by the Not So Shakespeare in the Park Troupe.

The Council will highlight Eureka Springs artists collectively and may be able to specifically mention any regionally known artists, so they would like to receive that information from the artists.

If you would like to participate in this opportunity to promote yourself and Eureka Springs, please contact Karen Millsap at jmillsap@centurytel.com who is coordinating the booth space.
