Jan Bell of the Maybelles reminds her fans in Eureka Springs that her newest album Songs for Love Drunk Sinners is a finalist for Alt.Country Album of the Year in the 2008 Independent Music Awards competition.

  The People's Choice Voting window is still open and Maybelles fans are encouraged to go on-line at www.independentmusicawards.com and vote.

  Songs for Love Drunk Sinners was produced by Samantha Parton, of The Be Good Tanyas, in New York City. Bell played with her Brooklyn band, The Cheap Dates.

  The Independent Music Awards judging panel includes Mavis Staples, Suzanne Vega, Tom Waits, Judy Collins, Charlie Musselwhite and Ray Davies of The Kinks.
