* The Fall House Concert Series will conclude on Wednesday, Nov. 19 with a performance by Mollie O'Brien and Rich Moore at the Unitarian Church at 17 Elk St.

The multigenerational, smoke-free venue will open its doors at 7 p.m. and the duo will begin performing at 7:30. Series organizer Jim Dudley told me all I need to know to recommend this performance. "This is our biggest show ever."

That's saying a pant-load-full. The quality and diversity of talent the House Concert Series has brought to Eureka is a valuable addition to the city's entertainment menu ... and they promise to have you home by 10 p.m.

I can't wait to see what rare musical luminaries they will line up for next spring's series. Thanks Jim.

* Speaking of luminaries, Opal Fly & Thy Faery Pranksters will light up the night next Saturday with a curbside Fire Show at Mountain and Center Sts.

As the Fly sez, "We are expecting to have more than 10 performers -- drums, bass, trombone, trumpet, sitar, flute, dancers, diggeridou and me on ukelele and saxophones. Go ahead ... get into the wild of life. Dress up funky zany if you want and come dance, sing and sweat with us!"
