He was a police officer for several years with various agencies within Carroll County. He was a member of the American Legion Post #9 at Holiday Island. He was a 32nd Degree Mason with his home lodge being Basin Spring Lodge #386 in Eureka Springs and his consistory in Fort Smith.

He enjoyed life and lived everyday to the fullest no matter where he was at. He owned several businesses, including the White Street Cafe and Can You Dig It in Eureka Springs.
