Flyers Wanted (02/25/08)
When we tell you to "Go fly a kite," it's a good thing. The 18th annual Eureka Springs Kite Festival will be held south of town at Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 22. This year's theme is "Art with an Altitude." Admission to the festival is free, although the regular admission price still appplies for those wishing to tour the refuge. Eureka Springs wood artist Douglas Stowe's work appears on the cover of the March/April 2008 issue of Fine Woodworking Magazine. The cover features four of his handcrafted boxes with an interior article explaining his design techniques. Stowe also is featured on Fine Woodworking's website with a story about woodworking with kids.
