Myrtis P. Wickersham, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born Feb. 16, 1917 in Monroe, Wisc., a son of Peter Wickersham. He died on Thursday, Sept. 14 in Eureka Springs at the age of 89. Wickersham worked for the Chrysler Corporation. He attended St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Eureka Springs. He was a veteran, having served with the United States Army during World War II. He is survived by four daughters, Kathy Houtcooper of Phoenix, Ariz., Bernedette Kaufman of Mesa, Ariz., Madeliene Heath of Pagosa Spring, Colo., and Mary Banks of Holiday Island; three sons, Marc Wickersham of Prescott, Ariz., Jacques Wickersham of Eureka Springs and Chuck Wickersham of Bull Head City, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives; and a host of friends.
In August 1945, he married Denise Mina (Borovoy) Wickersham who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Memorial funeral services were held on Sept. 22 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Eureka Springs with Father Thomas Arackal officiating. Cremation arrangements were by Nelson Funeral Service. On-line condolences may be sent to the family at www.nelsonfuneral.com.
