Walter Reginald Ward, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born July 11, 1941 in Hollandale, Miss., a son of Dannie Albert and Ella F. (Nichols) Ward. He died on Thursday, Oct. 12 in Eureka Springs at the age of 65.
Ward owned and operated the Pine Lodge in Eureka Springs for 20 years. He was a veteran, having served with the United States Navy.
He is survived by his life partner, Debbie Earls of the home. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Walter (Jason) and April Ward and their children, Walter (Danny) Ward and Michael Timothy Ward all of Eureka Springs; four step children, Kenny Morris and his children, Britney Morris and Cody Morris, Keri Lynne Hattenhauer and her husband, Rick, and their daughter, Anastasia Dawn Hattenhauer, Wesley (Kyle) Earls, and Kurtis Austin Earls; two sisters, Bobbye Jean McCool and her daughter, Donna Voneiff and Linda Kay King and her children, Mike Cooper, Tim Cooper and Belinda Gaetky; many other nieces and nephews, Danny, Carol, Gay, Debra, Martha Jean, Bill, Chuck, Tommy, and David; several other relatives; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Albert Ward; three sisters, Kathrine Roscicki and Peggy Brown, and an infant, Eloise Ward; and a niece, Vicky.
