Laurence "Larry" Pyshny, a resident of Holiday Island, was born on March 7, 1935 in Portland, Oregon to Ludwig and Josephine (Wilson) Pyshny. He died Friday, July 6 at the age of 72.
Pyshny was a crash rescuer for the United States Air Force.
On Jan. 10, 1956, he married Trudy Greenwood who survives him of the home.
He is also survived by three sons and one daughter, Lawrence and wife Linda Pyshny Jr. of Omaha; George and wife Susan Pyshny of Holiday Island; Tina and husband Art Butler of New Mexico; and Terry and wife Lynn Pyshny of Ozark; three granddaughters, Natalie, Trish and Lori; one step-granddaughter, Tarria; six grandsons, Laurence III, Lonnie Ray, Franky, Arthur, Hyran, and Kord; two step-grandsons, Keith and Kyle; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Phillip, and one sister, Janet.
Graveside services were held July 11 at the Auman Cemetery with Rev. John Burton officiating. On-line condolences may be sent to the family at
