Martin and Libby Newman will open the Blackberry Gallery on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 7 Center St., the former location of Little Bo Peep. The gallery's Grand Opening celebration will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4.
The Gallery will feature art created by Martin Newman, artistic pillows designed and hand-sewn by Martin and Mahalia Newman and unique home décor, including some vibrant fabrics.
The event is open to all serious musicians, music enthusiasts and songwriters who want to succeed in the industry by learning the most recent methods for promoting themselves and their music. Tuition is $250 per person.
Eric Schabacker, owner of Winterwood Recording Studios, will conduct the seminar. Schabacker has been involved in more than 100 gold and multi-platinum recording projects.
Seminar topics will include: how to promote your band; how to go about making an effective demo; and how to get a record deal. Music publishing, performance rights organizations, royalty pipelines, song protection and copyrights will also be explained. A highlight of the seminar will be a glimpse into the future of music and how the Internet can be harnessed for profit.

**HI art show registration now open
The Holiday Island Art Guild is now accepting registration from artists who want to participate in its annual Labor Day Art Show which will be held from Aug. 31 through Sept. 2.
The show will be judged by watercolorist Rudy Aguire of Bella Vista. Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded for the best two or three-dimensional art and photography.

Plans underway for 2nd
Studio 8 Creations of Eureka Springs is now accepting inquiries about the second edition of its Eureka Springs Artists & Galleries Map Brochure. The new edition will be available for distribution in late August.
Fine art galleries in Eureka Springs are invited to participate in the map. The map will include a section featuring local studio artists and individual artists who sell their art or fine crafts in the area.
