Citizen of the Week

It is said, "Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life." If so, we all got a nice shower last week at the Crystal Bridges reception at the Bank of Eureka Springs. Thanks in large part to the tireless efforts of Steve Schmidt whose on-line Artists Registry is dedicated to increasing opportunities for the visual artists of Arkansas, Eureka Springs has formed an alliance with the Crystal Bridges Museum of Modern Art, set to open in 2010. It is Steve's kind of vision for the future of Eureka Springs that will put our city firmly on the map as an artists' mecca to rival any in the country.
