Monday, March 10

  9:40 a.m. -- An officer checked on the welfare of a child left in a parked car while its mother shopped at a US62E discount store and found "all was OK."

  7:25 p.m. -- Following a call about people yelling and screaming at a Pivot Rock Rd. residence, an officer checked the area but could not locate any disturbance.

  8:38 p.m. -- Police were unable to locate a man reportedly yelling for help near Black Bass Lake.

  8:40 p.m. -- An officer talked with an intoxicated woman yelling at her children in the parking lot of a US62E fast-food restaurant.

  11:53 p.m. -- A caller told police his intoxicated wife left him at a Mountain St. pub and he can't find her.

  11:59 p.m. -- An anonymous caller at a Pine St. residence told police a crying, screaming intoxicated woman banged on the front door and was ultimately released to the family that was searching for her.

Tuesday, March 11

  8:30 a.m. -- The driving skills of a motorist who reportedly passed cars illegally on Hwy. 23N improved as soon as an officer began following him.

  9:16 a.m. -- A city hall employee reported a faulty parking lot pay station.

  12:43 p.m. -- Police were told about a vehicle which had been driving around the Lake Leatherwood soccer field.

Wednesday, March 12

  3:08 a.m. -- A "mental patient" left a retirement center and "returned all OK."

  8:03 a.m. -- A motorist was arrested for driving on a suspended license during a traffic stop on US62E.

Thursday, March 13

  6:53 a.m. -- A caller at a N. Main St. residence told police there was something suspicious about a man who walked very slowly down the street and quickly disappeared.

  11:12 a.m. -- A minor traffic accident occurred in the high school parking lot.

Saturday, March 15

  5:19 p.m. -- A false alarm was triggered at a US62 bank.

  7:05 p.m. -- Police were told that two women were harassing each other at a Historic Loop hotel.

  7:05 p.m. -- A caller at a US62E motel complained about receiving harassing phone calls.

Sunday, March 16

  1:30 a.m. -- The operator of a US62E gas station asked police to check out a vehicle abandoned in the parking lot.

  1:57 a.m. -- A person was arrested for public intoxication on S. Main St.

  2:40 a.m. -- A guest at a US62E motel was arrested for public intoxication after the facility's manager summoned police.

  9:15 a.m. -- Police inspected a disabled truck on the Historic Loop.

  1:16 p.m. -- The owner of two dogs running loose on Prospect Ave. was issued a citation and the mutts were taken to doggie jail.

  7:03 p.m. -- An intoxicated man standing in the road at the intersection of Spring and Mountain Sts. was arrested.

  7:59 p.m. -- A pixilated man "trying to walk up Main" was arrested.

  8:25 p.m. -- A van load of customers who ran up a $169 tab at a US62W bar and restaurant skedaddled without paying.
