Seeing Berryville

Thursday, March 20, 2008

So you've been cooped up in the car, and you're all ready to get out and hike, bike, swim, or float.

We hope the weather cooperates, but into each life some rain must fall. If this is your rainy day, and you still want to do something physical, take the family to the Berryville Community Center.

For a $3 day pass, you can have access to the indoor pool, a gym, a walking track, exercise equipment, and more.

After your workout, stop on the Berryville Public Square for lunch, and tour the Heritage Center Museum, housed in the historic Old Courthouse, which dates back to the 19th century. The museum contains an interesting variety of exhibits which document the history of the area. The courtroom on the third floor is a special treat.

Just off the Square, visit the Saunders Museum, which houses a world-class collection of historic firearms and other items from the frontier period.

By the time you have made the full tour, the sun will be shining again, and you can get out and enjoy the other wonderful outdoor opportunities in the Ozarks.

(The entrance to the Berryville Community Center is just across U.S. Hwy. 62 from the Williams Shopping Center.)
