Citizen of the Week

This week's Citizens of the Week are identically different twins, Erin (left) and Elissa Goldsmith, 3rd graders at the middle school, recent transplants from Florida. They're animal lovers. On the way to Berryville last Friday they spotted a small, lost dog walking beside the highway. "Mommy, Mommy! We've got to save that dog from getting run over." Their mother stopped her car and the dog jumped in. Later, they spotted the dog's picture on a flyer at a doctor's office. It was Chewbacca, all three lbs. of him. They called his owner, got directions and watched her burst into tears at being reunited with "Chewy" who'd been roaming Berryville for four days. Good work girls!

My name is Amanda and I recently visited Eureka Springs for the Easter weekend. I have a fantastic citizen of the week story that happened to me while I was there. Three local young adults were responsible for saving me and my boyfriend from possible drowning and hypothermia in the river and I feel greatly indebted to them for their courage, quick instincts, and kindness.
