Elmer Laverle Davidson, 70, of Bentonville, died Friday, March 28 at the Circle of Life Hospice Home in Springdale.
He was born Dec. 17, 1937 in Gaskin Switch to the late Elmer P. and Vera Davidson.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in Barbados for two years. Upon leaving the U.S. Navy, Laverle moved to Rogers in 1961 and began a long career working in the car and tractor sales, parts and service industry. He moved to Bentonville in 1964. He retired from O'Reilly Auto Parts in 2006 after 21 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Woodrow Davidson and Cecil Easley and two sisters, Opal Easley and Waltina Steller.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jane Clay Davidson; one son, Kevin Davidson and wife Kristi of Bentonville; two brothers, Willis Davidson of Rogers and Keith Davidson of Gentry; and three sisters, Bea Hailey of Bentonville, Thelma Bohannan of Berryville and Juanita Thrasher of Bentonville. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Seth Garrett and Lukas Brady.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 1 at Rollins Funeral Home with Freddy McCauley officiating.
A private burial was held at Bentonville City Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers.
