These pictures absolutely took my breath away with saddness. I love this bridge and can't imagine not ever seeing it again. Someone please tell me that won't happen.

It seems for a while now the city has been wanting to get rid of the bridge and put up a new one, now it looks as though they may get there wish if the rain water did too much damage to repair it. it's a shame too, it was a beautiful bridge, I had just gone over it one day before the big flood , it just amazed me at how fast it went under. There were many other places that got hit as well, like parks and recreation sites, hiking areas and such. The places will take some time to repair, but untill then it's still a "lovely county'.

Response by Lovely County Citizen:
The city of Beaver very vocally does not want to replace the Beaver Bridge, quite the opposite. It is the State of Arkansas who wanted to replace it. The citizens of Beaver have fought long and hard to keep it and keep it in repair. All of us hope it can be saved!

It would be a shame if the State took down this beautiful old bridge. Back in the 60's, I, with many other local teens, spent many summer nights swimming and hanging out at Beaver and the bridge was our gathering place. Wonderful memories...

Well, that was actually what i was meaning, was the state. I used to live in Holiday Island. I know how much they all talked about the bridge , and I often visited a friend in beaver and she loved that bridge, she'd fight to keep it. sorry for the miswording.
