Monday, April 7

  12:59 a.m. -- Following a complaint from a downtown hotel operator, police dissuaded two men from even dreaming about sleeping behind the Basin Park bandshell.

  1:56 a.m. -- A caller complained about a barking dog.

  10:26 a.m. -- Police were informed about a possible hit-and-run accident which occurred outside the city limits.

  11:12 a.m. -- A thrift shop operator asked police to inspect possibly counterfeit currency and a detective determined the bill in question was legal tender.

  5 p.m. -- Police were asked to deliver an emergency message to a visitor.

  7:20 p.m. -- An officer discovered a door left open at the elementary school and called a key-holder to secure it.

  9:22 p.m. -- Following a complaint, police asked residents of a Prospect Ave. inn to lower the volume of their sound system.

  11:24 p.m. -- An intoxicated guest at a US62W motel was asked to stay in his room for the rest of the night.

Tuesday, April 8

  2:40 a.m. -- An Elk St. resident complained about a neighborhood dog which had been barking for three nights in a row.

  12:35 p.m. -- A car parked illegally in the courthouse lot was decorated with an appropriate citation.

  2:03 p.m. -- A caller at the library complained about being followed by a "strange person."

  3:20 p.m. -- A minor traffic accident occurred on S. Main St.

  4:56 p.m. -- A hospital employee complained about his vehicle being booby-trapped by nails placed behind his tires.

Wednesday, April 9

  12:57 a.m. -- A motorist was arrested for driving on a suspended license during a traffic stop on US62E.

  6:48 a.m. -- A false alarm was triggered at a US62E bank.

  8:01 a.m. -- A mildly belligerent Basset hound was reported prowling around Emporia St.

Thursday, April 10

  6:42 a.m. -- A false alarm was triggered at a Spring St. jewelry store.

Friday, April 11

  11:45 a.m. -- A two-vehicle accident occurred on N. Main St.

Saturday, April 12

  8:57 p.m. -- A caller at a Pivot Rock Rd. residence told police about a suspicious person outside her home and a responding officer encountered a maintenance man working on doors.

  9:32 p.m. -- A traffic stop near the intersection of N. Main St. and Magnetic Spring Rd. resulted in the arrest of a person named in an outstanding warrant.

Sunday, April 13

  4:21 a.m. -- An officer was unable to locate a dog reportedly barking its head off near the confluence of Pine and White Sts.

  9:05 a.m. -- An officer removed a tree hanging over the roadway on Magnetic Spring Rd.

  3:14 p.m. -- Police assisted EMS personnel in transporting a sick person.

  8:48 p.m. -- A motorist was arrested after a vehicle rolled over on Fuller St.
