Jeanie S. Guthrie, a resident of Holiday Island, was born July 11, 1933, a daughter of Elisha and Dora (Norton) Shelton. She departed this life Thursday, April 17 at Fayetteville at the age of 74.

  On Nov. 2, 1974, Jeanie married Stephen Guthrie who survives her of the home. She is also survived by two sons, Garry S. Shelton and wife Julie R. of Erwin, Tenn. and Paul Vavchelet and wife Rayola of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Phyllis A. Guthrie of Holiday Island; one brother, Mack Shelton of Greeneville, Tenn.; one sister, Edith Shelton of Unicoi, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Heather M. Shelton, Michael Shelton and Shawn K. Morrill; four step-grandchildren, Jonathan, Joshua, Rebecca and Justin Teller; and a host of other family and friends.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Geneva Cutshall and Ruth Shelton; and three brothers, Guy, Lola and Azor Shelton.
