Trampas Joe "T.J." Jameson, 39, was pronounced dead at 11:30 a.m. on March 29, 2008 at his home in Berryville following a brief illness.
T.J. was born on Jan. 1, 1969 in Girard, Kan., a son of Danny Jameson Sr. and Sharon Bell.
He grew up in Cherokee, Kan. and graduated from Southeast High School in 1987. T.J. was of Christian faith and was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He also liked music and played in a band.
Survivors include his parents; two children, a son, Chay, 14, and a daughter, Autumn, 12, all of Cherokee, Kan.; a brother, Danny "Duke" Jameson; twin sisters, Tara Mitchell and Cara Self, all of Pittsburg, Kan.; and paternal grandmother Loraine Jameson of Scammon, Kan.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather George Jameson and maternal grandparents Arthur and Ruby Parent.
T.J. played baseball from age 6 to 18. In Junior High, he was involved in basketball, track and the marching band. In High School, he lettered in golf as a freshman and played all four years. T.J. was a wide receiver on the football team during his senior year and was named "All League First Team Punter." He also sang in the High School choir.
T.J. was always proud of winning the "Interval 2 on 2 Basketball Tournament" in High School with his cousin Greg Jameson because they didn't even play basketball but all the ones they beat did.
T.J. was buried in the Cherokee Cemetery in Cherokee, Kan.
