When this week's COW, Bill "Blitz" Humphrey was asked to stage a skateboard competition during Memorial Day weekend he went into action quickly and the result was a thrill-a-minute event that filled the Eureka Skateboard Park at Harmon Park -- designed by internationally prominent skateboard facility designers and builders Dreamworks -- and brought 15 local competitors and eight top-ranked demonstrators from Texas who wowed the crowd with hand-plants and 360-degree flips. Humphrey's AngelSkates hopes to set up shop locally within a year, grinding out skateboard decks and ramping Eureka Springs higher into the rarified atmosphere of international skateboarding.
