Earlene Mae Whittaker

  Earlene Mae Whittaker, born June 4, 1938 to Clara Earl Herndon and Delia Grandstaff Herndon, won her battle with cancer on May 14 and received her reward of meeting Jesus.

  She was born in Eureka Springs and attended Grassy Knob School for three years before graduating in Eureka Springs in 1958.

  She had a life-long job as homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

  She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Lloyd; her parents; a sister, Marjory; and two brothers, Bill and James Earl. She is survived by two sons, Stephen Daniel of Judsonia and Randy Whittaker and Linda of Searcy; two daughters, Jennifer Graves and Kenny of Judsonia and Sandra Tarlton of Bald Knob; three granddaughters, Brittany Daniel, Catie Daniel, Kelli Rasco and Miles; one grandson, Aaron Graves and one great-grandson, Mitchell Rasco; three brothers, Bob Herndon and Marlene of Weiser, Idaho, Don Herndon and Melissa of Eureka Springs and Kennetth Herndon and Linda of Eureka Springs; three sisters, Betty Jean McNeil and Vernon of Lyons, Colo., Mary Farmer and Don of Delta, Colo. and Darlene "Molly" Pinkley and Kenneth of Eureka Springs; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and life-long friends.

  Funeral services were held on May 19 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob with Bro. Thomas Piker officiating. Interment followed at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Judsonia.

  Pallbearers included: Michael Don Herndon; Miles Rasco; Vince Vire; Jeff Dillon; Bobby Dillon; and Dewayne Helms. Honorary pallbearers included: Dennis Gilliam; Ray Green; Doug McNeil; Joe Conelly; Danny Hoofman; Larry Phifer; Danny Smith; Shane Ford; and Eddie Cummins.
