Thomas George "Tom" Neely, a long-time resident of Holiday Island, was born Nov. 21, 1925 and died on April 29 in Topeka, Kan., at the age of 82.

Neely was preceded in death by his wife Hazel, whom he married on Nov. 23, 1946. He is survived by his brother Alan Neely; his sons Daniel and David Neely; daughter Deborah Shaugnessey; daughters-in-law Linda and Patricia; eight grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Neely was a Mason and, while a resident at Holiday Island, a member of the Elks and a charter member of the Holiday Island Presbyterian Church. Neely moved back to Topeka, Kan. in 2005.

A memorial service was held at the Holiday Island Presbyterian Church on May 10.
