much to grow the sport of sailing in Eureka as

anyone. Blessed with patience and enthusiasm,

he's encouraged beginners and challenged the

saltiest among us. Polite, kind and perceptive,

he's sailed the tar out of some of the humblest

craft afloat, like the troubled sail boat he christened

'Mir,' and worked his way to the head of

the fleet while taking a lot of people with him on
