Citizen of the Week
"If you want something done ... ask Alvin Byrd to do it." The personification of a "busy" man, he runs two successful downtown businesses that have helped revitalize the North Main Street area and serves as a CAPC commissioner. A self-described "downtown wrangler," he is part of the Design Committee of the Eureka Springs Downtown Network which beautified downtown with flower baskets. Now he's attacking cigarette butts on the ground by promoting "butt buckets" to benefit Main Stage. He also organized the Great American Clean Up. You can see him in all the parades and radiating warmth as an usher at the AUD. His nominator said, "If you want a positive attitude adjustment along with a big smile and hug, go see Albert." A very worthy Citizen of the Week, we appreciate him.
