Dogwood Trail, near Beaver Dam
This trail covers two miles of steep terrain, with lots of dogwood trees, which flower in early to mid-April. Although the trail is rated as difficult, the views are great, and the trail goes past a large bluff shelter.
War Eagle Trail Forest Trail
and Dogwood Loop at Withrow Springs
The War Eagle Trail is very popular, about two miles round trip, with moderate difficulty. It follows War Eagle Creek. The route includes a small cave and a scenic overlook atop a high bluff.
The Forest Trail hike is 2.5 miles round trip, and it may be a little long for some kids, but it's not a loop, so you can turn around and double back at any time.
The trail starts with an uphill stretch, but then levels out for a nice trek through the woods. This trail is especially rewarding during dogwood season.
Dogwood Loop is about three-quarters of a mile. It starts out somewhat steep, but is short enough for anyone.

Shaddox Hollow Loop at Hobbs State Park
This state park is located between Eureka Springs and Rogers. From Arkansas Highway 12, take Arkansas Highway 303 North.
The hike is a 1.5 mile loop, with nice scenery, lots of bluffs and streams, an abundance of flora and fauna. There is also a great view over Beaver lake
Lost Valley at Buffalo River headwaters
The Buffalo River area has some spectacular hikes, but this one is relatively short and has a lot of features along the way. Most parts of the hike are suitable for all ages.
