Monday, July 28, 2008

The Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down has entertained visitors to Eureka Springs for 27 years, and is still going strong.

Many people considered last season the best ever at the Hoe-Down, but the 2008 season is even bigger and better. With new and exciting features, audiences can expect an unforgettable experience.

The long-standing tradition continues of providing the hottest pickers in the area, along with the kind of comedy that will have you repeating the punch lines for days. It's an all around "feel good" kind of show that will leave you ready to come back for more.

Yes, you'll want to come back for more of this family-friendly fun. Even if you've seen the show before, it's worth a return trip to see what's new with a very talented bunch of performers.

All of the same faces from 2007 are taking the stage again in 2008, with a new variety of bluegrass, a little classic country mixed in with some current hits, lots of great Gospel music, hilarious comedy from P. Nutt, Granny, Girl, and the biggest burst of energy one stage can hold!

The 2008 cast is Randall George (lead guitar and drums), DaWayne George (bass guitar), Dusty Wilson (drums and vocals), Barb Childress (keys and vocals), Lee Hendrix (keys and vocals), Eddie Snow (steel guitar and banjo), Ted Snow (guitar and vocals), Leslie Wright (vocals), Jay Mischel (sound and lights), and we can't forget P. Nutt, Granny, and Girl!

Don't miss the "pre-show" at 7:30 p.m., followed by a visit from P. Nutt and Granny. The main show begins at 8 p.m. with high energy, toe-tappin' music right from the start! Just when you think you've seen the best show the Ozarks has to offer, the Hoe-Down saves the best for last with the most powerful patriotic segment ever performed on this stage.

This is not a year to miss the Ozark Mountain Hoe-Down! In addition to the 8 p.m. show, the Hoe-Down offers a new matinee show at 3 p.m. This matinee features much of the same cast, but with an all new afternoon show! From May through October, the Hoe-Down will be open every night, hosting three shows daily.

Stop by early to have hot dogs and ice cream and enjoy the Ozarks from P. Nutt's Patty-O! There are always surprises on the Patty-O, including special guests and even karaoke on some weekends. Children under 12 are admitted free, and souvenir photos are taken every evening. Be sure to check the photos online to see if P. Nutt "caught" you having fun at the Hoe-Down!
