Teen Screen workshops to be held

"The Elements of Script Writing" and on Thursday, August 7, 10 a.m. until noon, "Acting for the Screen" will be offered at Main Stage, 67 N. Main St. There is no charge and all are welcome. To register, call the Writers' Colony at 253-7444.
Lenore Norrgard says, "Writing a story for the screen is different from writing for print. Come learn the basic elements of professional screenplay form, and why screenplays are written that way. Learn why watching a movie adapted from a favorite novel can be disappointing, and why writing an original story can be much easier. Learn what to consider in choosing a story for the screen. And, acting for the screen is different from acting for the stage. Learn how to read a film script, and how to work with the camera instead of an audience. Learn the role actors have in the overall scheme of film production, how they relate to different parts of the crew, so you can act your best in your first screen project."
Lenore is currently at Writers' Colony working on her own dramatic screenplay, which she intends to see through production. She studied screenwriting and film production at Film Arts Foundation and the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, with additional study at the Northwest Film Center and with Writing Movies. She has served as film writer, director, cinematographer and editor on various productions. She was co-director and cinematographer in producing audition reels for actors in Ed Hooks' "Acting for the Screen" workshops in San Francisco.
