Lenora Doris (Evans) Anderson, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born May 1, 1924 in Mason, Texas, a daughter of David Wesley and Ethel Blanch (Hubble) Evans. She died on Saturday, July 26 in Eureka Springs at the age of 84.

Lenora was a member of the First Baptist Church in Streeter, Texas and was baptized in 1947. She was the second of 12 children.

She met and married Sid Anderson in Eden, Texas in 1941. In 1955 Lenora and her husband moved from Texas to Madison County with their eight children and lived on Dripping Springs Road until 1967. At that time they came to Eureka Springs with their family. Upon moving, they found jobs with the Elna M. Smith Foundation. Lenora worked for 27 years in the Bible Museum and could quote almost any verse from the bible. She loved to cook and was a loving mother and devoted Christian.

She is survived by her seven children; Blanche Cate of Springdale; Rev. William Anderson and wife Sharon of Alpena; Jimmie Anderson and wife Wanda of Fayetteville; David Anderson and wife Marjie of Eureka Springs; Paul Anderson of Eureka Springs; Darrell Anderson and wife Daphne of Eureka Springs; and Scott Anderson and wife Jeannie of Eureka Springs; three sisters, Sue Evans, Dorothy Samples and Shirley Seitz; three brothers, Alphine Samples, Ronnie Evans and Adriane Samples; 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and a host of nieces and nephews.

On Nov. 28, 1941, she married William Sidney Anderson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents and four children; John Wesley Anderson, Gregory Heron Anderson, Jackie Dale Anderson and Doris Lenora Anderson Hoffman.

Funeral services were held on July 29 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kirk Anderson officiating. Interment followed at Rockhouse Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
