Second Saturday Gallery Stroll, Aug. 9

The Eureka Springs Gallery Association (ESGA) will offer, for the third time, a chance to win a $500 gift certificate from any of the nine fine art and fine craft galleries that are members located along Spring Street.

Starting with the Association's Second Saturday Gallery Stroll on Aug. 9 and concluding with the Sept. 13 Stroll, patrons can go to any of the galleries, ask for an entry card, have the card punched and then visit each of the other member galleries and have the card punched until completed and turned in at the last gallery.

The entry card lists all participating galleries by address and features a map of ESGA locations.

One entry per person is allowed and participants need not be present for the drawing which will be held on Sunday, Sept. 14 in Basin Spring Park. The winning entry may be used at any one or all of the Association's nine galleries. During Saturday's Stroll, participating galleries will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Participating ESGA galleries, which can be identified by ESGA banners, include: Iris at the Basin Park, 8 Spring St.; Hooks Gallery, 7 Center St.; Eclectic Edge, 49 Spring St.; Zarks Gallery, 67 Spring St.; Quicksilver Gallery, 73 Spring St.; The Jewel Box, 77 Spring St.; Eureka Fine Art Company, 78 Spring St.; 83 Spring Street Gallery, 83 Spring St.; and Fusion Squared, 84 Spring St.

Leo to turn seven

Zarks Gallery will celebrate Leo's 7th birthday during the Second Saturday Gallery Stroll between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Aug. 9. Cake and catnip will be served. In lieu of a gift, Leo asks that you bring a can of cat food, a package of treats, or a toy for his pals at The Good Shepherd Humane Society Shelter.

ESSA to host final student art reception of the summer

The Eureka Springs School of the Arts (ESSA) will host the last Student Art Reception of its summer workshops on Friday, Aug. 8 at 4 p.m. at the school's campus at 157 US62W.

The reception will feature student work created in classes taught by pewtersmith Bill Derrevere of Tulsa, Okla., found object artist Chris Fischer of Eureka Springs, photographers Susan Storch and John Rankine of Eureka Springs and ceramic artist Terry Russell of Eureka Springs.
