A Chevy Trailblazer rolled over on U.S. Hwy. 23 North Tuesday afternoon about a mile from the Holiday Island entrance. According to Carroll County Deputy Sam Dunham, the vehicle, registered to a woman in Illinois, was driven by Jeffrey Smith, a Eureka Springs musician also known as "Coy Dog." According to witnesses, Smith was bleeding from his head. He fled on foot into the woods when deputies and emergency responders arrived, Dunham said, and made his way to a business in Golden, Mo., where he was picked up and given a ride back into Eureka Springs. The sheriff's department was unable to locate Smith as of 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dunham said, but are looking for him, and he will be charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving left of center and careless and imprudent driving. Anyone with any information may call the Eureka Police Department at (479) 253-8666 or the Carroll County Sheriff's Department at (800) 815-2901. Photo by Kathryn Lucariello
