William Anthony, 82 of Bentonville, died Sept. 28 in Rogers. Mr. Anthony was born March 23, 1926 in Arthur, Neb., the son of William R. and Estella Upthagrove Anthony.

He was a core driller and a Park Ranger for the Corps of Engineers and served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945.

He lived in Eureka Springs from 1929 to 1977. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Evelyn Chandler.

He is survived by two sisters, Velma M. Amos of Kansas City, Kan. and Helen Amos of Broken Arrow, Okla.; his nephew, Harold Amos of Rogers and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct 2 at Benton County Funeral Home in downtown Rogers with Pastor Jim Keith officiating. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery near Garfield with military honors.
