Semolic chosen for distinguished exhibit

Eureka Springs painter Kathryn Semolic is one of 32 artists chosen for an exhibition highlighting the works of Arkansans recognized for their talent, imagination and creativity.

Sally Williams of the Arkansas Arts Council and Mrs. Barbara Pryor worked with Sen. Mark Pryor and his staff to mount the six-month-long exhibition titled A Celebration of Arkansas Artists.

The Pryors will host an opening reception in the Senator's Museum Center office at 500 President Clinton Blvd. in Little Rock on Friday, Nov. 14 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Special guest Arkansas First Lady Ginger Beebe and represented artists will be in attendance.

Semolic's Little Rock visit will include a Sunday book signing event with the First Lady and some of the 82 juried artists for the 2009 Arkansas Artists Engagement Calendar, in which her artwork also appears.
