Nellie G. Walker, a resident of Holiday Island, was born May 14, 1921 in Higginson, a daughter of William J. and Effie A. (Reed) Walker. She died Dec. 14, in Eureka Springs at the age of 87.
Miss Walker served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. She was a member of the Faith Christian Family Fellowship Church in Eureka Springs.
Miss Walker is survived by five nieces, Marinell and husband Bob Harrison of Holiday Island, Nancy and husband Bill Weaver of Holiday Island, LaDonna and husband Ray Bottomley of Eureka Springs, Rebecca and husband Fred Knox of Los Altus Hills, Calif. and Karen and husband Greg Moses of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two nephews, Vince Henry and wife Michelle of Escondido, Calif. and Tim Henry and wife Monica of Visalia, Calif.; and a host of other family and friends.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clarence Barkley Walker, C. Reed Walker and Billy W. Walker; two sisters, Thelma Woodson and Martha Purcell; and one nephew, Harry Purcell.
