She was born on Feb. 5, 1932 in Jefferson City, the daughter of Anton Victor and Augusta Mary Forck Grothoff.
On Sept. 27, 1951 in Taos, she married George Henry Hilkemeyer, Jr., who preceded her in death on April 14, 1997.
A homemaker all her life, she was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos.
Survivors include: six daughters and their spouses, Cathy Kurtz, St. Louis, Mo., Shirley and Don Baranovic, Florissant, Mo., Donna and Ammon Lacy, Warrenton, Mo., Connie and Bob Searls, Imperial, Mo, Joan and Carl Evans, Warrenton and Sandra Bowman, Piedmont, Mo; and two sons and one daughter-in-law, Michael and Suzanne Hilkemeyer, St. James, Mo., and Citizen Crossword Puzzle Editor Steven Hilkemeyer, Eureka Springs; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Jane and Fred Henke, Taos, Henrietta and Herb Kroll, Wardsville, Mo.; four brothers and sister-in-law, Herman and Wilma Grothoff, Taos, Wilfred and Rita Grothoff, Wardsville, Tom and Agnes Grothoff, Taos, and William and Barb Grothoff, Westphalia, Mo.; and one brother-in-law, Joe Luebbering.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Gracie Hilkemeyer; a brother, Fred Grothoff; a sister, Dorothy Luebbering; and a son-in-law, John Kurtz.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 15 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Taos, with the Rev. J. David Maher officiating.
Burial followed at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Cemetery, Folk, Mo.
