Ronald Gene "Ronnie" Colvin

Ronald Gene "Ronnie" Colvin, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born Sept. 3, 1954 in Berryville, a son of Bobby Gene Colvin and Lloyd and Lois (Miller) Johnson. He died on Sunday, Jan. 25 while on vacation in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize, at the age of 54.

Ronnie was a member of the NRA. He loved to hunt and fish. He also loved chasing "bad guys" as a bail bondsman, being a fishing guide and working as a private investigator. Ronnie worked for KTHS, the Berryville Fire Department, the Berryville Police Department and the Carroll County Sheriff's Office. He was a carpenter, a bail bondsman and for the last seven years, the co-owner of The Big Dipper & Sweet's Fudge Kitchen with his wife, in Eureka Springs.

On July 25, 1992, he married Debbie Bird who survives him of the home. He is also survived by one daughter, Jennifer Lee Colvin of Berryville; his mother, Lois Johnson and step-father, Lloyd Johnson of Berryville; his father, Bobby Gene Colvin; one grandson, Aro Apaulo Epsilon Epley of Berryville; one sister, Janie and husband Chuck Hutchison of Berryville; one brother, Darol Colvin and wife Diane of Rogers; one nephew, Jason Williams and wife Carolyn of Berryville; one niece, Jana Williams of Berryville; two great-nieces, Jordan and Jerica Russell both of Berryville; cousin, Randy Colvin and wife Jennifer of Berryville; several aunts, uncles and cousins; his "Dipper Girls," Adrianna Solis, Melissa Koerber and Samantha Wages; and a host of friends who loved him dearly.

Ronnie was preceded in death by grandparents, Annie and Burr Miller and Sam and Bell Colvin.

Funeral services were held Feb. 6 at the Towering Oaks Church with Brother Larry Montgomery officiating. Interment followed in the Fuller-McClung Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
