William Jacob Barner, 87, of Rogers, died Dec. 5 in Rogers. He was born Jan. 3, 1921 in Shaker Heights, Ohio, to William Barner and Helen Scharra Barner.
He served in the U.S. Army. He was a telephone advertising manager in Dallas, Texas. After numerous visits to Eureka Springs, he moved to Eureka in the early 1970s and renovated and expanded a house on Pine St.
Barner served on the Eureka Springs Planning Commission. He was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Kiwanis Club. He was involved in ballroom dancing as a teacher and performer. He moved to Rogers in the early 1980s.
Barner is survived by a son, Brad Whitewolf of Eureka Springs; and three grandchildren.
Cremation arrangements were made by the Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.
