"My husband, Tim Collins, a flight medic with Air Evac and a former ESFD Captain, is a true healer of body and spirit. We were three days into our honeymoon last week and came upon a very bad two-car accident in Garfield. Tim was the first paramedic on-scene and climbed down a ravine to a mangled mini-van to care for a trauma patient. His compassion for the man, whose wife had been killed in the accident, made me want to cry. We stayed with him, providing care, until he could be air-lifted. It may be all in a day's work for an EMS worker, but for Tim, helping heal the patient goes farther than just helping to heal their body. It is one of the many reasons I love him so very much."
