Claude C.W. Lyle

Claude C.W. Lyle, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born May 23, 1926 in Vernon, Texas, a son of Claude Worth and Eva (Shaw) Lyle. He died on April 25 at the age of 82.

Mr. Lyle worked for his parents in their grocery store. He served in the United States Navy Seabees during World War II, and two years in the Pacific. He was a resident of Forth Worth, Texas for 38 years where he worked in car dealerships, ran a Texaco Station and owned Exxon gas stations and two laundromats for 32 years with his wife Aileen Lyle. They were married 46 years until her death in 1990.

Claude and Marie were married on June 5, 1992. He retired and they moved to Beaver Lake near Eureka Springs in 1993. He was a member of the Holiday Island Community Church and the Masons/Shriners.

Claude is survived by his daughter, Jean and Joe Malone of Richland Hills, Texas, his son, Jim and Julianne Lyle of Branson, Mo., three granddaughters, Jennifer and Kevin Ray of Harrison, Jamie and Neal Blackburn of Columbia, Mo., Erika McMurphree of Richland Hills, Texas; and great grandchildren, Aliyah, Mariah, and Bailey Blackburn, Tristin Ray and Noah McMurphree.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Aileen Lyle, and parents.

Memorial services were held on April 29 at the Holiday Island Community Church with the Rev. Allen Thrasher officiating under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
