Guido R. Balzumati

Guido R. Balzumati, a resident of Eureka Springs, was born Jan. 20, 1924 in Detroit, Mich., a son of Anthony and Antionette (Trulio) Balzumati. He died on May 28 in Eureka Springs, at the age of 85.

Mr. Balzumati was the owner Guido's Smoke House Café. He was of the Catholic faith. He served in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps during World War II.

On Oct. 28, 1960, Guido married Janet M. Leavens who survives him of the home. He is also survived by two sons, Richard A. Balzumati and wife Denise and Thomas R. Balzumati and wife Cristina all of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Allyson D. and husband Pat Burke of Houston, Texas, Heidi J. Best of Eureka Springs and Doris E. Hersey of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Tobi Shelton of Houston, Texas; grandson, Brant Shelton of Houston, Texas; grandson, David W. Marshall and wife Kaysie of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Janet M. Lewis of Eureka Springs; grandson, Antonia Balzumati of Eureka Springs; granddaughter, Miruna Balzumati of Houston, Texas; grandson, Richard P. Burke of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Terri Lynn Jones of Houston, Texas; grandson, Danny Jones of Houston, Texas; grandson, Pat Sullivan of Houston, Texas; granddaughter, Carrie Sullivan of Houston, Texas; great-grandson, Drew C. Marshall of Houston, Texas; great-grandson, Carter P. Burke of Houston, Texas; and a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kenneth W. Ward and one daughter, Sherry Jones.
