Terry Wood, of Oklahoma (center), admires a handmade knife he won as part of a fundraiser for Special Olympics. The knife was created by local artist and craftsman Butch Hanby. Wood is flanked by Detective Joe Barbalace (right) and Assistant Police Chief Morris R. Pate. Wood purchased the winning ticket at Planet Leather Shop in Pine Mountain Village. The Eureka Springs Police Department and Arkansas Chapter II Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club raised about $8,000 for Special Olympics with a successful combination of its Polar Plunge, the Knife Drawing and the parking of cars in the donated Cornerstone Bank parking lot. "We would like to thank all the businesses that participated in the drawing for the knife. Without them, this could not have been as big as success as it was. We anticipate another beneficial year in 2010 for the Special Olympics fundraisers. Remember to help us help the Special Olympians by supporting the Eureka Springs Police Department in its fundraising efforts," Pate said Photo by Police Chief Earl Hyatt
