On Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m., the Eureka Springs School of the Arts (ESSA) will again host a working studio stroll of Lowell Baker's "Figurative Sculpture" workshop.
Students began this workshop working from 360-degree photos of a subject, and have progressed to working from a live model in their figurative sculptures. The studio stroll is open to family, friends and the public.
On Tuesday, June 30, ESSA will host a slide show of Session Five Instructors Gary Simmons (pen and ink) and Leandra Spangler (hand paper making) at 4 p.m. at the campus which is open to the public.
Openings are still available for Youth Art Week classes, July 6 through 8, with Mary Tait's "Fun with Slipcovers," Jamie Tait's "Hand Printed Wallpaper" and Kathryn Semolic's "Painting" for ages 12 through 17.
In addition, for ages 7 to 11 from July 9 to 11, Carrie Marry will teach "Loom Weaving" and Mike Gibson will offer "Bookmaking" for the first time. Gary Simmons will teach "Pen and Ink" and Leandra Spangler will teach "Hand Paper Making." Also, Jamie Tait will teach "Hand Printed Wallpaper" to this younger group, and K. Michael Crawford will present "Cartoon Character Art."
