ESSA Youth Art Week to feature Saturday reception

The Eureka Springs School of the Arts (ESSA) will host Youth Art Week with classes taught by Jamie Tait (Hand Printed Wallpaper) and K. Michael Crawford (Cartoon Character Art) beginning Thursday, July 9.

On Saturday, July 11 at 2 p.m., ESSA will hold a reception and open house to showcase the work of the aspiring young artists. Youth Art Week scholarships were funded by Community First Bank, Cornerstone Bank, the Eureka Springs Board of Realtors and the Eureka Springs Rotary Club.

On Monday, July 13, Arkansas "Living Treasure" Doug Stowe will begin teaching "Wooden Box Making" at the Clear Spring School woodworking shop located behind the Rowdy Beaver Restaurant at 417 W. Van Buren. A studio stroll for this workshop will be held on Thursday, July 16 at 4 p.m. with a public reception.

Openings are still available in Mary Springer's "Life Drawing" workshop and Valerie Damon's "Shaman Doll" workshop which will begin July 20. Registrations are still being accepted for Jack Miller's "Printmaking" class and Gerald Chrisholm's "Nature Woodcarving" workshop which will begin July 27.
