The Eureka Springs School of the Arts (ESSA) will begin its 8th workshop week of the summer on Monday, July 20, with classes taught by locals Mary Springer (Life Drawing), Valerie Damon (Shaman Doll Making) and L. J. Smole (Basic Enameling).
On Tuesday, July 22, a slide presentation of Springer and Damon's work will be shown at the ESSA campus at 4 p.m.
On Thursday, July 23 at 4 p.m., ESSA will continue the new studio stroll, open to not only the friends and family of attending students but also the public. Refreshments will be served and visitors will view students creating art in their workshops.
Openings are still available in Jack Miller's "Printmaking" and Gerald Chisholm's "Nature Wood Carving" classes.

The award-winning mural The Divine Mother, a 4-ft. x 8-ft. acrylics panel painted as part of the 2007 "Icons" exhibit at the Artery, will be auctioned off on eBay between Saturday, July 18, and Monday, July 28,
The panel has recently been covered by national media.
The bidding will start at $499 with an undisclosed "reserve" price, and 40 percent of the final sale will go to the Artery and is tax-deductible.
