EureKan Art mounts month-long Traxler show

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

EureKan Art Studio & Shop is currently exhibiting a collection of newly released, limited edition giclee prints created by Julie Traxler. The show will be displayed throughout September at 150 N. Main St.

Traxler was a painter and sculptor who lived a life as astonishingly colorful as her paintings. She painted everything from doors to chairs to canvas. Her strong sense of color had a vibrational quality similar to Van Gogh, but with a special Traxler twist.

She liked her art to test the limits in content, color and materials. Her sculpture often utilized found objects like bowling bowls or garden rakes in a way that compelled the viewer to see everyday objects in entirely different ways.
